Plukh, have you loaded into Pegasus to test pings? I can load into you all from Cali and get 300-500ms ping which I think is great considering the distance and the fact that I can easily get 200-350ms pings to Pegasus from Cali which is only on the other side of the US from me more or less. No, not great, but I don't think it will too bad (I hope) for all the EU, Aussie, NZ, Oceanic, etc., etc. people.
I've been to all servers, even if just to watch FNF :-). Ping to Centaurus is ~20-50 ms for me, for US servers it's consistently 400-600 ms. It's playable, for the most part, but makes using Polarity Gun tricky, and using several skills in quick succession unreliable - I get the dreaded "I can't do that" about once every 3 to 4 attempts to cast Recon immediately followed by Lightning on PTS (which is also US East-located). Same for Sniper debuffs, which is even worse :-(. And I know well from my days of CS and TF that anything above 200 ms will generally get you killed at PvP, and I don't think TR's any different in this regard.
Added on edit: I didn't mean for the above to sound negative - I do think that server merge would be extremely beneficial to the community. But it's not without its downsides, unfortunately.

DEVS: THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE!
My 2nd favorite weapon in the game... is now MY weapon in the game
(although bug report: it's Kacz... )
I am just in awe with the floodgates of love the Devs have opened up to us with D16 ... the player-named weapons, Corman & Sarah Morrison clothes, loot-drop pets and emotes... WOW!... this deployment has really helped break me out of my depressed "my-company-is -closing-same-day-as-TR stupor...
Devs, you all are the best, so please, don't be shy letting us know the next games you land on, so that we can know what games to play next

First, how do you get the clothes? As a drop, right? And what pets and emotes are there? Keep those screenshots coming, I won't be able to play TR till Sunday, stupid deadline at work :-(.

There's such a strong will to resist me. I mean some of them pretend I don't even exist for them. So I wait patiently for time to pass. Usually they give in and embrace me. Soldier: Unless there's a war or a plague or something. Exactly. Still I feel heartbroken taking away the young ones. I mean, they make such beautiful plans for their lives you know? They're always asking me, who gets to decide who stays longer and who has to go, but... that's not my business. Soldier: Wow... touching. You're not the heartless ***** I thought you were.
i cannot put into words exactly how awesome, great, cool, mind boggelingly stupendous the development team have been for this game, while it saddens me that the game is going away i leave it behind when it shutsdown with so many good memories that they will stay with me til the day i die. thanks for all the hard work and effort. this is truly a game that deserves more than it got.
I've found three armor sets (Corman, Morrison, and Officer), ten pets, about a dozen or so emotes, and I think a dozen or so of the weapons.
And Bethel got the laser rifle. A nice weapon for a starting character that wants to clear Tier 2 in under 10 minutes (as I did last night with Bethel's laser rifle, a combo Corman/Officer armor set, and one of the oh-so-juicy exp tokens).
